I define myself as a relationship-based therapist. I am committed to establishing a genuine and meaningful relationship in therapy with you. It is my responsibility to create a space of safety, to encourage the taking of risks and provide an environment where both joy and suffering can be explored. Starting a therapeutic journey can be an intimidating and overwhelming endeavour. I believe in each person’s capacity to change and their natural tendency towards wellness.
As a Registered Psychologist in Alberta, I have over 20 years of experience supporting teens and adults, with their personal growth and change. My clinical education and experience focuses on providing support for youth and adults (age 16+) in multiple areas including, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, trauma, motor vehicle accidents, grief/bereavement, disordered eating, insomnia, chronic pain and addictive behavior.
I believe in a holistic approach to health and healing, focusing on understanding the whole person. I approach my therapeutic process from a humanistic, trauma-informed lens. I have professional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Solution Focused Therapy.
I understand that every person is different and therefore tailor my approach to the specific needs of my clients. You have a unique story to share and within it are many strengths and solutions. We will discover resources and begin to align your values to create meaning and purpose in your life. My hope is that you will cultivate healing and begin to trust your authentic self. I bring the qualities of open-heartedness, firm boundaries, flexible techniques, curiosity, honesty, humor, alliance, and clear-headed presence to my work. I look forward to working with you.
